USER EXPERIENCE RESEARCH
My name is Donovan Watts and I’m a user experience researcher for AnswerLab in San Francisco, California. My passion is understanding the user experience and researching how people interact with websites, mobile applications, and gadgets which let’s me know what people think about the products they interact with on a daily basis. It is my mission to interpret and translate those findings to my clients. I’ve worked with Microsoft, Yahoo!, Experian, Genentech, Cisco WebEx, and other Fortune 500 companies to understand and improve their user experience.

WHY BLOG
This is the place where I write about my passions; user experience research and hula hooping. When I’m not working on usability, you can find me hooping with the Bay Area Hoopers or performing at a club with my LED psi-hoop or maybe even fire hooping in the Grove at Golden Gate Park with my fire friends.

MY CREDENTIALS
During the work hours I’m on the research team at AnswerLab, an online user experience research company that has an incredible client list. Previously I’ve worked for myself as well as non-profits and other companies in the Bay area. If you want to know more, check out my portfolio.

MY BACKGROUND
It all started with the educational technology courses I took at the University of Hawaii. It was then that I knew that I’d be involved in creating easy to use experiences for the digital world. Since graduating, I’ve been building websites and focusing on the online user experience, consistently delivering results that put the user’s needs first.

MY PLAY TIME
Aside from my passion for the user experience, I take lots of photos, hula hoop, spend time with friends, go to the theater, drink belgian beers, cook at home, travel and never stop learning new things. I was born in the Los Angeles area, spent over a decade in Hawaii, and I currently live in the awesomely freaky city of San Francisco.
